The EU Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change

The Mission on Adaptation to Climate Change supports EU regions, cities, and local authorities in enhancing their resilience to climate change impacts.

The annual Forum serves as a pivotal governance component of the Mission, bringing together national, regional, and local authorities, European institutions, Charter Signatories, and Friends of the Mission. It provides a platform for in-depth discussions, facilitating the identification of successes and challenges while guiding the Mission's future trajectory.

This year’s forum will spotlight the actions and experiences of Mission participants, highlighting practical and inspirational examples of adaptation measures implemented by regions, cities, and local authorities across Europe to address diverse climate challenges.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore innovative approaches to enhancing resilience and discover the accomplishments, new tools, and solutions developed through Mission projects. The event will foster dialogue, networking, and collaboration, promoting knowledge exchange among all involved.

The 2025 Mission Forum is co-organised by the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Registration

Please register your interest in attending the Forum by 11 April. Options for both in-person and online attendance are available. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email as soon as possible. 

Pre-Forum programme

On the morning of 19 May, participants will have the opportunity to attend site visits around Wrocław to discover some of the region's varied initiatives towards climate change adaptation and resilience. When registering, please specify which site visit you wish to attend. Spaces are limited and awarded on a first-come-first-served basis. See here for more information.

On the afternoon of 19 May, members of the Mission’s Community of Practice are invited to a pre-Forum workshop. This exclusive session will provide a collaborative, active learning environment for members to network, discuss common challenges and needs, learn about thematic fields of action and solutions, and learn tools for building resilience.  

An evening reception will be held on 19 May at the prestigious Wrocław Town Hall and all participants are invited to attend. See here for more information.
